Browne Jacobson's managing partner Iain Blatherwick has been unanimously reappointed for a further three years by the law firm's 73-strong partnership.

Blatherwick has been responsible for the strategic direction of the business since taking over from Brian Smith in May 2009, the company said. He led the relocation of the firm's headquarters in Nottingham last year.

The Midlands-based company posted record revenue of £35.2m for the year ended 30 April 2011, up from £33.1m in the previous 12 months.

First half results to date are also up by 19 per cent on the 2011 figure, the firm said.

Browne Jacobson promoted 12 new associates last week (6 February): three in its Birmingham office and nine in Nottingham.

"It has been a privilege to lead the firm and I am delighted to be asked to continue for a further term which I am sure will be just as exciting and challenging," Blatherwick said.

"There is still a long way to go in achieving the vision that we all have for Browne Jacobson and I look forward to playing my part in the next stage of the firm's development."

Senior partner William Colacicchi added: "Iain has done an outstanding job over the past three years steering the firm successfully through the 2009 downturn in the legal market, and building the foundations for the firm to develop and grow in such a focused and strategic way. The decision to have Iain at the helm for the next three years was unanimous."

Browne Jacobson has offices in Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester and London.
