Birmingham law firm Cobbetts has helped hotel and restaurant operator Whitbread add more than 750,000 sq ft to its Premier Inn portfolio across the UK.

The Cobbetts team has recently advised on a range of new developments across the Midlands, including new hotels at Kidderminster, Walsall Waterfront, Warwick, Coventry, Leamington Spa and Exchange Buildings in Birmingham City Centre, where conditional contracts were exchanged in the first week of 2012 for a new, 139-bedroom hotel set to open in 2013.

Negotiations are currently being handled for a number of other schemes in the Midlands, including sites in Redditch, Dudley, Telford, Stourbridge and Longbridge.

Paul Inman, real estate partner at Cobbetts, said: "Our longstanding relationship with Whitbread has enabled us to help the business achieve its opening targets and its current pipeline is very strong, with many exciting new projects at an early stage. We certainly envisage a very busy and successful 2012."

The Cobbetts team handles all acquisitions in the Midlands, London, and North of England for the company.
