Law firm Browne Jacobson has announced the promotion of nine associates at its Nottingham office following record turnover for 2011.

The Midlands-based company posted revenue of £35.2m for the year ended 30 April 2011, up from £33.1m in the previous 12 months.

First half results to date are also up by 19 per cent on the 2011 figure, the firm said.

The record results for last year are a result of "working harder, winning new clients and striking a nice balance between the public and private sectors", a spokesman told Insider.

Chris Emm, Claire Gay, Helen Taylor, Michael Sadler, Paul Smith, Susan Slade, Stephanie Coates, Nina Best and Jamie Otter have been made associates at the Nottingham office.

Browne Jacobson also promoted three staff to associate level at its Birmingham office.

Senior partner William Colacicchi said: "These promotions reflect the excellent contribution each lawyer has made to the firm's ongoing growth and expansion and are richly deserved.

"All twelve have demonstrated outstanding performance in their practice areas. As an ambitious firm we believe strongly in investing in the skills and talents of our people and this commitment will continue as we seek to further expand our business in line with our key growth strategy."

Browne Jacobson has offices in Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester and London.
