Villa net new kit deal
Aston Villa have signed a record new kit deal with Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron.
The Bologna sportswear label will replace current supplier Nike for the start of the 2012-13 season for a reported £15m, four-year agreement.
Macron currently supplies kits for a host of English sides, including Stafford Rangers, Worcester City and Championship clubs Leeds United and Millwall, but Villa will be the manufacturer's flagship team in the Premier League.
Founded in 1971, Macron will provide Villa with its official match kit and training apparel for players and management staff for four seasons, until May 2016.
The new kit will go on sale in mid-June at Villa Park, with the away kit available in July.
Villa chief executive Paul Faulkner said: "Commercially, this is the best deal the club has ever secured with an official kit partner.
"Macron has established its credibility in the development of high-quality performance football apparel and the sales and distribution of licensed products and this new partnership will significantly benefit Aston Villa in the years ahead."
Nike's deal with the club lasted for five years.
