JSJS Designs appoints director

JSJS Designs, a Walsall-based provider of home automation technologies, has appointed Mike Hughes as a non-executive director.

Hughes has experience in sales and marketing roles in the healthcare and technology sectors for a number of blue-chip companies.

He was head of marketing for the partnership division of Marconi Communications, managing the global partnerships of Siemens, Nokia and Ericsson.

After leaving Marconi in 2000, Hughes launched several companies in the manufacturing, internet and recruitment sectors.

He is currently chairman of the British Jewellery Association, vice president of the British Allied Trade Federation and a council member of the West Midlands CBI.

Mike Lord, chairman and chief executive of JSJS, said: "I am pleased to welcome Mike to the board of JSJS. He has a wealth of experience in developing and growing businesses, and also brings a speciality in developing distribution channels and routes to market, which is a particular area of focus for JSJS over the next couple of years."

The company announced pre-tax profit of £71,622 for its first quarter 2012 results on revenue of £678,979.
