Half-million investment for Cobra Seats
A £500,000 cash injection is set to boost services at Telford-based Cobra Seats.
The automotive seat manufacturer has pumped the money into its engineering facility in a bid to boost its "niche service".
This includes providing trimming and finishing to vehicle manufacturers and for seating in other industries such as stadiums, theatre, marine and military.
Managing director Mark Dunsford said: "To be honest, we were becoming increasingly frustrated by the need to rely on third parties to 'fill in the gaps' on projects. We were often working to tight deadlines and recognised the need to be in control of every aspect of the production process."
Cobra's investment in tube manipulation, CNC machining and sheet-metal processing means it can now work from concept to prototypes to production runs entirely in-house, it said.
"We have the very latest Solidworks CAD CAM technology, which means that we can take even the most basic concept and start to visualise it in 3D. Importantly, we also have the expertise which means we know the constraints, objectives and key requirements of each individual industry, so we can provide that invaluable combination of understanding and capability to our clients," Dunsford added.
