Turnover boost for Silentbloc

Share | |

Silentbloc UK has increased turnover by more than 50 per cent in the past five years at its manufacturing site in Burton-on-Trent as its international client list has grown.

The rubber products manufacturer, part of the Icon Polymer Group, has recorded sales of £6.3m last year, up from £4m in 2006 – and slightly up from £6m in 2010.

Continuous product and materials innovation and an "ever-growing" international customer list were responsible for the rise, with a growth forecast of more than 25 per cent in 2012, the company said.

The Silentbloc range includes safety critical vibration control components for the aerospace, rail, off-highway and energy-generation sectors, used by companies such as Rolls-Royce, Unipart, Bombardier, Siemens, Caterpillar and JCB.

Tim Pryce, Icon Polymer Group chief executive, said: "2012 is set to be another exciting year for the Silentbloc brand, with a plethora of new business opportunities and the launch of several major innovations.

"Key to our on-going success is our highly loyal and motivated workforce and we are confidently predicting that sales turnover at Burton-on-Trent will exceed £8m this year."

Icon Polymer Group, which employs 55 staff at Burton-on-Trent, is based in Retford, Nottinghamshire.

For the year ended 30 September, it made a pre-tax profit of £935,000 on the back of £19.5m sales.
