Derbyshire international trade event to be held
An international trade panel event is to be held in Derby next month (February 2012) hosted by the Institute of Directors (IoD) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
The two business organisations, alongside a panel made up of local companies and agencies with international trade connections, aims to highlight the benefits of exporting, followed by an advice session with UKTI.
John Forkin, managing director of Marketing Derby, will chair the early evening business seminar in the Derby Enterprise Centre on 7 February.
Gerry Beetles, chairman of Davis Derby, which specialises in safety and communications systems for hazardous environments, will also be on the panel.
Ron Lynch, IoD East Midlands regional director, said: "This is the fourth in a series of joint events in the region with UKTI to help companies boost their export opportunities and learn from some of the local experts who have already been successful in international markets."
Peter Hogarth, regional director for UKTI East Midlands, added: "Derbyshire businesses need to embrace exporting if they want to grow. Overseas companies are clamouring for UK-made goods and across Derbyshire we've got a diverse array of excellent companies that need to ensure they take full advantage of the opportunities out there."
