Barclays Wealth boosts East Mids presence

Barclays Wealth has appointed a new private banker to boost its presence in the East Midlands.

David Archer – who has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services sector – joins Barclays Wealth from Kleinwort Benson where he worked as a private banker and intermediary sales manager, offering wealth advisory services to private and corporate clients and pension funds.

In his new position, Archer will be working with the Barclays Corporate offices bringing wealth management services to clients in the East Midlands.

Archer said: "(The) East Midlands is experiencing substantial growth at the moment and I'm looking forward to working with the team."

Ben Gulliford, Barclays Wealth's regional centre head for the Midlands, added: "David's appointment not only enhances our presence in the East Midlands, but also emphasises our commitment to our clients there."

Barclays Wealth is a global wealth manager with total client assets of £170bn, as at 30 June 2011.
