Marston's appoint director
Wolverhampton pub group Marston's has appointed Nick Backhouse as non-executive director.
Backhouse is currently senior independent director of Guardian Media Group, as well as a non-executive director of All3Media.
He was previously deputy chief executive of David Lloyd Leisure Group, chief financial officer of National Car Parks, chief financial officer of The Laurel Pub Company, and chief financial officer of Freeserve.
Prior to this he was a managing director at ING Barings, which he joined after qualifying as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.
Marston's chairman David Thompson said: "Nick's background in finance and then general management, together with his knowledge of the leisure sector will enable him to make a valuable contribution to the group."
Backhouse will start in his position from 1 February.
