BC Barton saved by sale
Oldbury-based BC Barton & Son has been bought out of administration with all 29 remaining jobs saved.
Baker Tilly's Birmingham office was called in by the manufacturing company, which was established more than 100 years ago, after it fell into administration in November.
Joint administrators Guy Mander and Graham Bushby continued to trade the business for eight weeks while a buyer was found.
The sale was completed for an undisclosed sum to BC Barton Limited, a newly incorporated subsidiary of the Dark Industrial Holdings group.
Mike Dell, of Dark Industrial Holdings and president of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, said: "We see BCB as a unique business with a long-standing tradition and reputation, which will complement our other group companies. It has a number of exciting opportunities alongside its core products and we are looking forward to returning the business to its past glory."
Founded in 1898, BC Barton & Son specialises in traditional presswork, welded fabrication and sheet-metal manipulation.
Depressed construction and civil engineering markets led to a reduction in turnover, the company said as it entered administration.
