HTC track down CS Electronics
Newcastle-under-Lyme-based HTC Solutions has acquired vehicle tracking and telematics provider CS Electronics.
Formed in 1979, Stafford-based CS Electronics supplies and maintains off-the-shelf and bespoke radio communication systems for industries such as Blue Circle, Michelin, Alton Towers and Cleanaway.
The purchase by HTC, developer of the Haultech software service used across the haulage, logistics and distribution industry, will bring an enhancement to the HaulTech brand, the company said.
CS will transfer to HTC's Newcastle-under-Lyme offices and will come under the HaulTech brand as HaulTech TrakMan.
Members of the TrakMan team have been retained, including Barry Mayer who will become HaulTech's telematics consultant, along with IT and service support,
HTC managing director Geoff Brook said: "As the HaulTech brand continues to develop and gain market share it is essential for us to add more products and services to our offering. The acquisition of HaulTech TrakMan is a major step towards our goal of offering a fully integrated portfolio of products to the transport industry."
CLB Coopers advised on the deal.
Corporate finance partner Steven Lindsay said: "HTC's acquisition of CS Electronics is an important and significant move for the business. Being able to provide a full asset-management service means that the business will continue to enjoy the growth and development that they have been experiencing over recent years."
