Breedon Aggregates cements Nottingham Ready Mix deal
Breedon Aggregates is entering the ready-mixed concrete market with the acquisition of Nottingham Ready Mix.
Located between the construction industry supplier's plants in Breedon on the Hill and Grantham, the purchase plugs a hole in its coverage of the East Midlands, Breedon told the Stock Exchange.
Group chief executive Simon Vivian said: "Our success at Breedon Aggregates has been built on giving our customers an outstanding service, delivered locally, promptly and to the highest possible quality. Nottingham Ready Mix has exactly the same ethos.
"From a practical point of view, nothing will change following this acquisition. The business will continue to trade as Nottingham Ready Mix and its senior management team will continue to run the business day to day, providing the same level of excellent service."
In the longer term, Nottingham Readymix will form Breedon Aggregates' Nottinghamshire hub, from which the company plans to develop its ready-mixed concrete operations over the coming years.
The team there will work closely with Breedon Aggregates' flagship quarry at Cloud Hill, near Breedon on the Hill, which will supply them with crushed rock.
