Metalrax adds to board

Engineering products supplier Metalrax has appointed Caroline Green as the group's finance director.

The Birmingham-based company announced the board change as it gave a trading update to the Stock Exchange. Green has been a member of the senior management team at Metalrax since 2008, most recently serving as director of corporate development.

Chairman Andrew Walker said: "I am delighted to be welcoming Caroline to the board of Metalrax. Caroline has been an integral member of the senior management team at Metalrax for a number of years.

"This promotion to the board is well deserved and I look forward to working with Caroline in her new role."

Metalrax said it had experienced "some weakening" in forward order books for the year ending 31 December, but insisted it was "too early" to say whether this is the start of a trend.

The directors said they expect the group's performance for the full year ended 31 December 2011 will be in line with market expectations.

"With regard to the coming year, the well-publicised macro-economic uncertainty in many world economies is concerning," said Metalrax. "The group has seen some weakening in forward order books but it is. However, management continues to focus on growth initiatives, margin improvement, overheads, working capital controls and prudent asset investment."
