£9m expansion for Molecular
Molecular Profiles has invested £9m in a new site in Nottingham.
The move aims to help the specialist drug developer "expand its manufacturing capabilities" and boost its "expertise in the drug development field", the business said.
The site, set to open in late 2012, is due to provide an extra 30,000 sq ft of space for clinical trials with six new suites, new laboratories and a clinical packing suite.
A £1.6m grant from the Regional Growth Fund is helping to pay for the investment.
Nikin Patel, CEO of Molecular Profiles, said: "The construction of significantly larger manufacturing and laboratory facilities is a strategic decision based on customer demand.
"Our strategy for expansion is well underway and securing the regional growth funding is a clear endorsement of our strategic growth plans.
"Following our double win of the Queen's Award in 2007 and 2011 in the category of innovation, we have once again affirmed our ambition and continuous development."
