Jobs threat as Tradeteam announces closure
More than 100 jobs are at risk in Warwickshire after drinks distributor Tradeteam announced it was closing its Hams Hall operation.
The Coleshill, Birmingham-based company, which delivers drinks to pubs, restaurants and clubs throughout the West Midlands, said it would try to relocate some of the 120 affected staff into other areas of the business.
Staff at Tradeteam's head office operation at Hams Hall will not be affected by the closure, confirmed a spokesman.
"Under the proposal Tradeteam will soon commence individual and group consultations with affected staff and site representatives, and will make every effort to redeploy staff wherever possible to other areas of the business," he added.
"We would like to thank the team at Hams Hall for their understanding at this difficult time and stress that this decision is in no way reflects on the quality of work at the site."
Tradeteam, which has a turnover of about £155m, supplies drinks to companies including Molson Coors, Mitchells & Butlers and JD Wetherspoon.
