Envisage takes on CPP Manufacturing
Coventry-based Envisage Group has acquired the manufacturing division of CPP Global Holdings, rescuing about 120 jobs.
Engineering specialist Envisage has launched a new company, Envisage CPP, allowing 120 jobs to be kept on at the former CPP head office on the Seven Stars Industrial Estate in the city.
Brendan O’Toole, who founded the CPP Group in 1995, will continue to lead the new company.
He said: "I am looking forward to being part of the new group and taking it forward with an exciting future under the umbrella of Envisage."
Envisage is a group of six companies in the transport engineering sector, providing design, manufacturing and recruitment skills.
It currently operates two plants in Coventry, and employs about 280 members of staff.
The deal means that the sponsorship of the CPP Coventry Blaze will remain in place, confirmed O'Toole.
Bryan Campbell, executive chairman of the Envisage Group, said: "When CPP's interests and assets were offered we were therefore interested. We understand that there were around 20 expressions of interest and ours represented the best chance of continued employment for the staff and unbroken service to clients.
"The Envisage Group now brings the strength and financial stability that provides a long term future for the growing transportation sector and provides continued employment for the CPP staff and ongoing service to their expanding client base."
In September this year, CPP Global Holdings signed a deal with Advantage West Midlands to purchase 23 acres of land in Browns Lane, Coventry.
The automotive specialist signed an exclusive option agreement to purchase the site and plans to bring all its current operations in the city to the new location within five years.
The other divisions of CPP continue to trade.
