Phoenix rises in Leicester
Leicester's Phoenix Square will open its doors to the public tomorrow. The £21.5m development – a collaboration between the public and private sectors – will officially open just two years after work started on-site. As well as two cinema screens, a café bar and the DMU Cube – an interactive digital art gallery – Phoenix Square includes 63 individually designed new homes, 22 workspaces, seven two-storey office studios and eight incubation units for creative businesses. Patrick Kitterick, Leicester City Council's cabinet member for regeneration and transport, said: "Our vision for regenerating St George's through a culture-led regeneration programme is now taking shape."
