Heb hits £9m auction sales
Nottingham property agency Heb has sold 78 per cent of the properties on offer at its latest auction, bringing 2011 sales to a total of £9m.
A record number of bidders turned out to the auction, said partner and auctioneer Matt Hilton, as both commercial and residential lots went under the hammer.
Hilton said: "The turnout for the December auction was excellent, and was definitely the highest attendance we have ever seen. There was some really keen bidding too. We sold commercial lots which had relatively high value as well as retail and residential properties.
"Most of the auctions this year have seen success for residential lots, but this one was unusual as we also sold retail and office schemes as well as an industrial space."
Heb has raised almost £9m from auction sales over the past year.
"2011 has been a difficult year for the property market, but the popularity of auctions has continued to grow," said Hilton. "Our December auction has proven that this interest has not waned even during the festive period, and is hopefully a sign of things to come in 2012."
