A Derbyshire care home has increased its capacity by 50 per cent and created 20 jobs after securing a development loan from Santander Corporate Banking.

Family-owned residential care home Bramble Lodge has completed a 24-bedroom extension after obtaining the undisclosed funding package.

The West Hallam-based care home’s new bedrooms are all single en-suite rooms and take the home's available accommodation from 41 bedrooms to 65.

Susan Cumberland, general manager at Bramble Lodge said: "We are very excited about our new development and look forward to providing excellent care to 24 more residents in the local community. Our relationship with Santander Corporate Banking is helping us achieve our growth plans."

Bramble Lodge, which specialises in dementia care, is owned by Winland Care and is operated by Bucintoro.
