Farnsworth takes on Howes Percival role

East Midlands law firm Howes Percival has appointed a new partner to head up its non-contentious workload and dedicated intellectual property team.

Scott Farnsworth, who previously worked for Nottingham law firm Berryman (prior to its merger with Shakespeare Putsman earlier this year), has worked in life sciences legal practises across the UK

"I am delighted to have joined such a successful firm as Howes Percival," he said.

"This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity for me and a solid platform from which to expand the firm's non-contentious intellectual property practice across the UK. I am hopeful this will help me to expand the work of the intellectual property team beyond the Midlands, from London and the South East to Manchester and the North West."

Head of the intellectual property team at Howes Percival, Matt Talbot said the firm faced "stiff competition" from several other firms for Farnsworth's appointment.

He added: "We can now compete with any other law firm throughout the Midlands and beyond on advising companies large and small and various institutions on their intellectual property requirements."
