Medical centre given funding injection
The owner of a medical centre site in Hilton, Derbyshire, has extended and built a new pharmacy using a £235,000 loan from Lloyds TSB Commercial.
Hilton Pharmacy, which adjoins Wellbrook Medical Centre on Welland Road in Hilton, was officially opened by Heather Wheeler, MP for South Derbyshire.
To finance the expansion project, the unnamed medical centre partnership secured a funding package from Lloyds TSB Commercial to design, build and fit the extension.
The partnership said it now plans to expand further in the New Year with an extension to accommodate a physiotherapist service.
Roger Williams, property partner at Wellbrook Medical Centre, said: "The expansion shows our commitment to serving the ever-changing needs of the community, and we intend to welcome a physiotherapist to the surgery in the next few months to ensure patients can have access to this essential service in a local capacity."
Established in 1974, the surgery is home to six practising doctors.
