Taxi manufacturer Manganese Bronze Holdings has appointed a new non-executive director following the resignation of Frank Cao.

Coventry-based Manganese Bronze Holdings said Cao had left the company with immediate effect due to other work commitments.

He will be replaced by Daniel Li, who takes on the non-executive director role.

Li has been an executive director of Geely Automobile Holdings since May 2011 following his appointment as vice president. He was also appointed to the post of chief financial officer at Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Company, the controlling shareholder of Geely Automobile Holdings, in April 2011.

Manganese Bronze Holdings struck up a joint venture with Geely Automotive earlier this year.

John Russell, chief executive of Manganese Bronze Holdings, said: "Mr Li's background and experience will be a real asset to the company. The board also expresses its gratitude to Mr Cao for his contribution to its leadership."
