Chek Whyte sells Ilkeston Town

Share | |
Chek Whyte, the East Midlands developer, is to sell Ilkeston Town. Whyte, who recently secured an IVA from his creditors, has offloaded the Blue Square North club he bought under his son's name 18 months ago to a mystery consortium. A statement from the club said: "We at Ilkeston Town would like to confirm that an offer to purchase the majority shareholding in the club owned by Harry Whyte as been accepted. It is anticipated that the group involved in the takeover will complete its due diligence within a few weeks. I am sure that it is in everyone's best interest that the ownership of Ilkeston Town Football club changes hands and that the move is fully supported by the current board."
