CPMG sets designs on Dunelm HQ
CPMG, the architects' practice based in Nottingham, has designed the new headquarters for Leicester retailer Dunelm.
The new all-glass offices at Watermead Business Park in Leicester had "a strong emphasis on creating an energy efficient building with low operating costs," said CPMG.
The building has 'solar stacks' such as Victorian chimneys which draw hot air up and out the roof tops. Large flat roofs areas have also been constructed for future installation of photo voltaic panels.
"We have succeeded in meeting the client’s aspirations to create a striking building that is also highly sustainable in its design," said Richard Flisher, director of CPMG. "Staff will enjoy the working environment and Dunelm Group will benefit from the building’s efficiency and low operating costs."
Bowmer & Kirkland was appointed contractor on the project, BSP Consulting the geotechnical, structural and civil engineer and CPW, the mechanical and electrical consultancy.
