Work starts on £5m housing scheme

Share | |

Construction of a housing development on the former site of Tresham in Kettering is underway.

The £4.8m scheme, being built by Loughborough-based contractor and developer William Davis, will provide 40 affordable homes for rent and shared ownership.

William Davis was appointed to the project by the Waterloo Housing Group.

Richard Cornes, partnerships director at William Davis, said: "The former Tresham College campus had become run down and unfit for purpose. Together with our partners, we are looking forward to witnessing the transformation of this site and the creation of a thriving, sustainable community for local residents."

The new development, which will also include eight family homes for private sale, will regenerate "a key gateway to Kettering town centre", he added.

Funding from the Homes and Communities Agency was awarded to the scheme alongside support from Kettering Borough Council and North Northants Development Company.
