East Midlands Airport-based bmibaby has launched new flights to two ski resorts.

The airline said it will begin flights from East Midlands Airport to Chambery on 16 December and Toulouse on 23 December. The airline hopes to carry more than 15,000 customers during the ski season.

The Chambery flights are set to take place on Fridays and Mondays while the Toulouse flights are to happen twice a week.

Julian Carr, managing director of bmibaby, said: "As the gateways to the best French ski resorts both in the Alps and the Pyrenees, the new routes will enhance our appeal to skiers and snowboarders.

"We are confident the routes will prove very popular, perfectly complementing our existing ski destinations from the Midlands."
