Rolls-Royce wins £223m Hawaiian order
Rolls-Royce has won a $350m (£223.5m) contract from Hawaiian Airlines to provide Trent 700 engines for five Airbus A330 aircraft.
The aircraft, to be supplied from 2013 to 2015, will add to the airline's current fleet of five Trent 700-powered A330s. Another 12 are in the production pipeline.
The order includes TotalCare long-term services support from Derby-based Rolls-Royce.
Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian Airlines' president, said: "This announcement marks another important milestone in the growth of our business and our long range fleet. The Rolls-Royce Trent 700 delivers high levels of operational performance and fuel-efficiency.
"It is the cleanest and quietest engine for the Airbus A330 - two important considerations for Hawaiian Airlines."
Mark King, Rolls-Royce's president of civil aerospace, said: "We are very pleased that Hawaiian Airlines has again chosen to place its trust in our world-class engine technology. We look forward to continuing to develop our important relationship and helping Hawaiian Airlines maximise the benefits of Rolls-Royce technology."
