Rotork swoops for Prokits

Share | |

Nottinghamshire-based Prokits, a designer and manufacturer of valve adaptor kits and accessories, has been bought by a South West company.

Rotork, based in Bath, snapped up the entire share capital of the company for an undisclosed sum.

Prokits' owner Craig Mellins has been appointed as general manager of Rotork Valvekits into which the business will be merged.

Rotork chief executive Peter France said: "The acquisition of Prokits, for which Craig Mellins has established a good reputation in the market over the last decade, will increase the customer base and scale of our Rotork Valvekits valve adaption and accessory products business."

The acquisition of the business, which has gross assets of £600,000, follows Rotork's snapping up Fairchild Industrial Products Company, a pneumatic controls and power transmission product manufacturer, for $75.8m (£48m) last month (18 November).

The Bath company will now create a new division, Rotork Instruments, to focus on developing further opportunities in the flow control market, it said.
