Biodiesel deal for West Mids
Wednesbury-based Biodiesel (West Midlands) has been bought by Olyphant & Talbot Fuels.
The plant is now aiming to produce 40,000 litres of biodiesel per week as part and plans to produce fuels worth more than £2m from the Wednesbury base.
Olyphant & Talbot said it is also hiring West Midlands graduates as part of expansion plans to grow the business.
Olyphant & Talbot refines waste vegetable oil (WVO) with its biodiesel said to be suitable in any diesel engine or oil-fired boiler.
The US military, which buys $14.5bn (£9.3bn) of fossil fuel every year, has recently announced a push into WVO biodiesel.
The company's managing director John T Curtis said: "When people experience how well our refined biodiesel runs and lubricates their engines, they will come to us and stay with us."
