Superfos deal doubles RPC profit
RPC Group has doubled turnover and posted "significantly higher" revenue after its swoop for Danish business Superfos.
The Northampton company, which supplies rigid plastic packaging, posted revenue of £586.7m for the six months to 30 September 2011, up from £381.9m a year earlier.
The higher revenue related to the Superfos acquisition also led to an 11 per cent like-for-like sales increase in the period. Pre-tax profit rose from £18m to £35.1m as a result.
Jamie Pike, chairman, said: "RPC has delivered a very good first half year performance with the integration of the Superfos business progressing well and synergies anticipated to be £9m for the year ending March 2012.
"Whilst macro-economic uncertainties have increased, the group has made significant progress towards achieving its stated aim of 20 per cent ROCE [return on capital employed] by March 2014."
