Norbert Dentressangle drinks to Carlsberg deal
Logistics giant Norbert Dentressangle, based in Northampton, has been appointed as Carlsberg UK’s primary logistics partner through a five-year contract.
Carlsberg UK, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group, is the UK's fourth largest brewer with a portfolio of brands including Carlsberg, Tuborg and San Miguel.
From February 2012, Norbert Dentressangle will take responsibility for all of Carlsberg’s UK primary distribution, including managing the flow of materials and finished products into and out of the Carlsberg brewery in Northampton.
Responsibilities also include the receipt, sorting and inspection of empty kegs and management of Carlsberg’s national distribution centre, also based in the town.
David Hawkins, country procurement manager for Carlsberg UK, said: "Carlsberg is delighted to have secured the services of Norbert Dentressangle as our primary transport, national distribution centre and brewery services provider.
"Their appointment follows a long and tough tendering process, in which they have shown themselves to be a dynamic partner with a collaborative approach to day-to-day business."
Carlsberg will continue to distribute its own and other third-party brands to pub and free-trade customers through its own distribution network.
