The Birmingham office of property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has been appointed to a £3.5m telecoms project.

LSH's health and safety team will take on the construction design and management responsibility for the Hull-based project.

The team will oversee the installation of a data and telecoms network for MS3 Communications, a company recently set up by digital media specialist Mediasat3.

Through the project, 50 kilometres of fibre cable will be installed, providing a telecommunications network to thousands of homes and businesses.

LSH will work with civil engineering contractors Optilan.

Michele Wright, LSH's senior health and safety co-ordinator, said: "We are very pleased to be involved in this ground-breaking and exciting project which is expected to be just the start of a much bigger rollout of next generation communications in the region."
