TWL delays Soccerdome scheme
The Weather Lottery has delayed plans to revamp its Nottingham-based Soccerdome five-a-side facility because of sports centre work.
The delay would impact on the expected increase to profitability, Mattersey-based TWL added.
When TWL bought Soccerdome in June, it initially expected to complete its refurbishment plan by autumn 2011.
However, the work, including the provision of roof cover to four of the pitches, has now been delayed after the local authority revealed it was planning a major redevelopment of the Harvey Hadden Sports Complex, which had previously been shelved.
Since that work may remove for a time the changing facilities and even encroach on the existing five-a-side centre, TWL said it has decided to delay the planned Soccerdome refurbishment works.
TWL said it has completed a smaller refurbishment but this would not lead to increase in utilisation, and profit, the full revamp is expected to bring.
