Hamilton boosted with tech investment
Leicestershire-based Hamilton Adhesive Labels has invested £500,000 in new technology.
The company, which is based in the Bardon Hill Business Park, has bought a colour press from Holland which it said will help it to exploit growing demand.
It will also allow Hamilton to expand into new markets including cosmetic, toiletry and healthcare, the business said.
The company has also invested in a 100 per cent camera inspection system from AB Graphic International, one of the first in the UK.
Chris Marsh, managing director and founder of Hamilton Adhesive Labels, said: "Customers have been asking for this service for some time and now that we have it, we envisage a significant growth in orders that will enable the new press to return on its own investment very soon.
"The cosmetics, toiletry and healthcare markets work heavily on synthetic materials such as clear on clear substrates, polypropylene and polyethylene and our new press is ahead of its time in this area, which will provide us with a real USP for further market growth."
Operating from a 25,000 sq ft site, Hamilton currently manufactures labels primarily for the food, logistics and beverage sectors for brands such as Bakkavor Food Group, DHL and The Samworth Group.
