An Alsager golf company is preparing to launch its latest practice club after securing support from Barclays Business.

Laser Line Golf has created spent the last three years developing The Plaser, a patented practice club which is used to improve golf swing, providing instant feedback on the swing plane.

The business' founders Russell Kinsley and Alan Turner worked alongside PGA golf professional John Farmer to produce the club.

Turner said: "Russell was the brains behind developing the club and I joined the venture to bring my business experience to the project after running a successful manufacturing business in Staffordshire for 25 years. After selling up aged 59 I decided that retirement was not for me just yet and this project has enabled me to return to the world of business.

"We have invested over £120,000 into the project so far, to get the product to market and we have high hopes for the future."

It is now set for launch after securing undisclosed investment from Barclays Business, and will appear on Channel Five's TV programme The Gadget Show later this month.

Chris Moore, Barclays Business manager, added: "Alan and Russell are a great example of combining industry expertise with business expertise.

"Getting a new product to market in this hugely competitive industry has shown real commitment and endeavor and hopefully we will see The Plaser in golf shops and academy’s all over the country in the very near future. "
