Nelson Distribution expands with contract wins
A Belper-based distribution company has created ten new jobs after winning several multimillion-pound contracts.
Nelson Distribution said it has invested £500,000 in new plant and equipment on the back of the contract wins.
The family-run company based at Goods Road Industrial Estate, Belper, said it has now created ten new jobs and plans to generate more in the coming months.
Nelson Distribution said its investment of £500,000 is its biggest expansion "for years" and takes it near to the full capacity under its operating licence for 80 trailers.
Managing director Simon Nelson said: "I’m delighted that in winning and signing these major contracts we have fulfilled the goals that I set for the company. We are now on the lookout for more contracts.
"As a result of this investment in our fleet and information technology infrastructure plus a strategic alliance with another company we now have the capacity to tender for all nationwide distribution contracts."
