100 jobs saved with hotel buy
The sale of a Wolverhampton hotel has saved more than 100 jobs. Administrators from Grant Thornton sold the Ramada Hotel site to RS Power and Partners.
The deal, which was made for an undisclosed sum, safeguarded the jobs of employees at Ramada Park Hall Hotel & Spa in Wolverhampton.
David Bennett and Joe McLean of Grant Thornton were appointed joint administrators of the hotel's parent company Fortmere Group in May 2011.
Fortmere Group comprised three West Midlands-based hotels in Wolverhampton, Dudley and Kenilworth.
Bennett said: "We are very pleased to have sold this iconic Wolverhampton hotel, especially given the difficult economic times and the challenges being faced by the hotel sector."
Power added: "Ramada Park Hall has a promising future ahead and we are currently putting plans together for a full refurbishment of the hotel. We are continuing to take bookings for the Christmas season and look forward to welcoming everyone, both long-standing and new customers."
