Plans for 42 flats to be built on the former Amber Windows site are being recommended for approval before Birmingham City Council's planning committee.

Barteak Developments, based in Solihull, submitted the plans which are to being proposed to pass by council officers.

Birmingham City Council's planning committee will decide whether to pass the proposals on Thursday (24 November).

Three blocks of flats are proposed for the site, two three-storey and one two-storey building, comprising a total of 42 flats. The same number of parking spaces is also suggested.

The site is the former home of window manufacturing company Amber Windows, and first received outline planning permission for residential use in 2007.

Council officers recommend the scheme be given deferred approval, stating: "The proposed scheme would respond to its context, safeguarding existing neighbour amenity and no adverse impact on highway safety.

"As such, the proposal is in accordance with relevant policy and guidance, and subject to the completion of a suitable legal agreement planning permission should be granted."
