Hard Anodising site rises from the ashes

A Kidderminster-based manufacturer is preparing to return to full production after a fire severely damaged one of its factories.

Finishing specialist Hard Anodising has replaced its outdated plant which was lost in the fire last year with more modern equipment.

It has also boosted overall capacity by redesigning the layout of its production areas.

Hard Anodising offers specialist metal finishing services to the automotive, aerospace, defence and medical sectors.

In August 2010, the company’s second factory at its site on the Firs Industrial Estate was gutted by a blaze which broke out on one Monday morning.

"I think we're in a better position compared to where we were before," said managing director Phil Bayliss.

"The fire has given us the opportunity to lay out the factory in line with modern standards and practices, and we have spent a lot of money on fitting it out with brand new plant and equipment."
