Jobs windfall for Leicestershire with Redrow schemes
Up to 270 jobs are set to be created with housebuilder Redrow's plans to construct 180 new houses in Leicestershire, Insider has been told.
The developer is to start work on two ventures in the county early next year.
Redrow plans to build 12 houses on a two-acre site off Glenfield Frith Drive in Glenfield; while 168 plots in Countesthorpe are planned on a 25-acre parcel of land west of Leicester Road.
Matthew Pratt, managing director for Redrow Homes in the Midlands, said: "By building new homes in Leicestershire we will be making a major contribution to the local economy.
"The two developments will provide employment for construction workers and will be a welcome addition to the local housing market, offering a stand out range of quality built family homes."
A spokesman from the House Builders’ Federation (HBF) said that each new house built on the sites would create one-and-a-half full time direct jobs, plus twice that figure again in the supply chain.
