Craig Croft gets £8.4m cash boost
An enterprise centre is to be established in a North Solihull village after it received £4.2m of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The enterprise centre in Craig Croft aims to create jobs and attract investment to the region, and will provide facilities for new and expositing small businesses.
A new road junction into the village will also be created, which will be developed on currently derelict land.
More than £4.2m has been invested by ERDF, which is managed by the Department for Communities and Local Government, and matched by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
Other funded activities include a new eight-mile cycle network around the area and the creation of a village centre at North Arran Way.
Communities minister Baroness Hanham CBE said: "With some support, Craig Croft has the potential to be a thriving area. The creation of the enterprise centre and a vital access route will really help local businesses to develop whilst supporting the local economy.
"The wider plans for the area will also benefit the local community helping to encourage and develop a sense of community pride. I am delighted to be able to support this project."
