Troops drives retail growth with funding
Lincolnshire family business F Troop & Sons has secured investment from NatWest to support its expansion plans.
The motor trade business, known as Troops, obtained the undisclosed cash injection for the opening of a new petrol station and retail store in Newark.
Run by husband and wife Rodney and Caroline Troop, the company specialises in selling Vauxhall models.
Its former dealership site at Farndon Road, Newark, has been rebuilt to provide a new petrol station and retail facilities operated by Spar. The pair said the site is now "exceeding all expectations".
Through the funding agreement, NatWest restructured and extended existing facilities to support the ongoing trading business.
Dave Fisher, director of business development and commercial banking at NatWest in Lincoln, put together the funding package. He said: "The Leadenham operation continues to service a loyal and growing customer base.
"The Farndon site is well positioned close to the new A46 dual carriageway which is predicted to carry heavy traffic once fully operational. This, combined with securing Spar as a long term tenant vindicates the investment decision."
