College snaps up Aston Recruitment
North Northamptonshire College has bought training provider Aston Recruitment and Training.
The college said it bought the entire share capital of Northampton-based Aston for an undisclosed sum.
Aston, which was established in 1987, offers training courses for a range of qualifications and industry sectors including engineering, business skills and hair and beauty.
The college said the tie-up would help create opportunities for local employers and apprentices to access a greater range of courses.
East Midlands law firm Howes Percival advised on the sale.
Solicitor Jessica Frankish said: "Aston is renowned in the local area for having a great reputation as a quality training provider. We were pleased to be involved in securing the next stage of the business' development, especially during these difficult times for the education sector.
"Aston's amalgamation with North Notts College will create an even stronger organisation and provide new training opportunities in the East Midlands for local businesses and employers."
Aston's founder Beverley Whatmore will stay with the business on completion of the deal.
