HCA boost given to Stoke scheme
A £3m investment has been awarded to a Stoke-on-Trent housing development.
Robert Napier, chairman of The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), visited the region and announced the organisation would provide a cash boost to the City Waterside scheme.
Napier joined representatives from Stoke-on-Trent City Council and developer Lovell on the Ridgway Road site, where 91 new homes are about to be built.
Councillor Ruth Rosenau, cabinet member for regeneration at the authority, said: "Ridgway Road kickstarts the next phase of our key city centre residential development and building 91 high quality new homes shows real confidence in our housing market.
"Our Mandate for Change plans to deliver growth and jobs to the city and with national developers like Lovell choosing to invest here, we can have great faith in our transformation plans for the city. As well as our own support for this development we would like to thank the HCA for their investment in Stoke-on-Trent."
On his visit to the city, Napier also visited North Staffordshire YMCA, where the HCA is investing £4.6m in supported housing for homeless young people.
