Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has unveiled plans for its proposed new site in West Bridgford.

At a public consultation in the Rushcliffe Arena this weekend (11-12 November), the company showcased its proposals for the 51,236 sq ft store.

Along with the food store, Sainsbury's said it hopes to implement a customer café, 610 car parking spaces, a recycling centre and cash machines.

A pick-up/drop-off point, cycle hoops and customer toilets are also proposed along with an Explore Learning Centre for children and a potential petrol station.

Sainsbury's is proposing to redevelop the site formerly occupied by The Chateau pub, off Wilford Lane. After the public consultation has been completed, the plans will go before Nottingham City Council's planning committee.

The supermarket said its plans included a range of 'green' features in an attempt to make it one of the most sustainable Sainsbury's stores in the UK.
