Connells makes a move on Burchell Edwards
Midlands estate agency group Burchell Edwards has been snapped up by Connells.
The deal, which was completed for an undisclosed sum, includes Burton-on-Trent headquartered Burchell Edwards, its conveyancing firm Be Legal and the 16 Ashley Adams branches.
Once completed, the acquisition will increase Leighton Buzzard-based Connells' network to 487 offices.
The Burchell Edwards network provides residential sales, lettings, conveyancing and mortgage advice across offices in Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Birmingham, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
Connells' said it will now support the agency's expansion including opening several branches next year and a recruitment drive.
"This acquisition of an already successful and profitable independent estate agency will reinforce Connells’ strength in the Midlands housing market," said Connells' chief executive Stuart Flavell.
Burchell Edwards, which operates 16 offices across the Midlands, will retain its existing trading names once the deal has completed.
