Sales creep up at IMI
Revenues are up about 6 per cent at engineering company IMI. The Birmingham-based business said the small boost reflected strong comparatives in the second half of 2010.
In an interim management statement released this morning, the company added that the results had been adjusted for the acquisition of Zimmermann & Jansen, which it bought at the end of last year.
Revenues in IMI's merchandising division were down in the second half to 9 November, which the company attributed to the large automotive order that it received in 2010.
IMI's Severe Service business shipments "continued to improve", said the company as it reported a 4 per cent rise in the four months to the end of October.
Its Fluid Power and Indoor Climate businesses also experienced a slight increase in sales, rising 6 per cent and 2 per cent respectively.
Roberto Quarta, appointed as a non-executive director from 1 June 2011, assumed the role of chair of the company on 1 November following the retirement of Norman Askew.
