Shakespeares grows with Wood Glaister
Midlands law firm Shakespeares has added another business to its portfolio after a merger with Solihull's Wood Glaister.
Shakespeares, which was established earlier this year by four Midlands law firms, said the addition of Wood Glaister would grow its staff base by 55.
Wood Glaister will continue to trade under its original name and will retain its office in Solihull, which has nine partners.
The merger is set to complete on 1 December.
Established in 1984, Wood Glaister specialises in property development, commercial property, commercial litigation and personal injury.
Alan Sinnett, senior partner at Wood Glaister, said: "We have very carefully considered how we wish to build a successful future for all of our staff and for the firm. Joining forces with Shakespeares provides us with the opportunity to create a very powerful Midlands based legal business with offices across the region.
"Solihull remains a vibrant hub for business and we will continue to focus on growing our business in the local area and across the Midlands."
Shakespeares was formed by the merger of Birmingham-based Shakespeare Putsman, Nottingham's Berryman; and Stratford upon Avon based firm Needham & James in 2010.
Last month (October) specialist social housing practice Gorrara Haden also joined the practice.
