Nottingham's Victoria Centre has revealed a £1m car park refurbishment.

The 1,579-space underground shopping centre car park has improved signage, disabled parking areas and revamped its five parking zones.

New car park lift lobbies made of glass have been installed and improvements to lighting made.

Richard Bowler, Victoria Centre manager, said: "We are delighted to announce that our car park is now ready and open for the busy Christmas season. Shoppers visiting the centre in coming weeks, during this busy time of year, will enjoy a more streamlined parking experience.

"We have made a major overhaul of the car park and have enhanced shopper experience by improving our signage and marketing around parking spaces for disabled drivers and for parents."

Later this month, Victoria Centre will replace its car park token system with a ticketing system and new machines will be installed in the refurbished basement car park.
